Over-the-counter medications like pain relievers, antacids, and anti-diarrhea medication are useful to have on hand, as equivalents may differ in brand or strength.

Pharmacies are common in Cancun, particularly in the Hotel Zone and larger shopping centers. If you have specific prescription needs, bring an adequate supply from home, along with a copy of your prescription. Sunburn is a common ailment, so pack aloe vera gel or a soothing lotion.
