No pay-to-win badges and no review-count maths. Our team stays as ordinary guests, scores the property against a fixed framework, and publishes the reasoning. Hotels win categories. Their teams win individual awards, nominated by guests and colleagues.
We book, pay and stay like any other guest. Nobody is warned.
Awards cannot be bought, and advertisers get no scoring advantage.
Every score is tied to timestamped notes and photos from the stay.

Seventeen categories, because the best hotel for a toddler is never the best hotel for a pool party. Pick the one that matches your trip.
Staff awards
Hotels are made by people. Each property can put forward its own team, and guests can nominate anyone who made their holiday, right down to the pool crew.
How judging works
- 1. Longlist. Every hotel in our Cancun database with verified data and enough recent guest signal.
- 2. Unannounced stays. Auditors from our expat panel visit as ordinary guests and score the full journey.
- 3. Cross-check. Scores are compared against guest reviews, complaint patterns and our own page data.
- 4. Shortlist and staff nominations. Shortlisted properties nominate their own people; guests nominate too.
- 5. Ceremony and badges. Winners are announced at the annual ceremony in Cancun and get a verifiable badge that links back to their scored page.
