For a deeper try Mayan culture and a more authentic city experience, Merida, the capital of Yucatan state, is a worthwhile destination, though it requires a longer journey. Another option is Bacalar, famous for its 'Lagoon of Seven Colors,' offering a serene lakeside retreat. While Xcaret Park and Xcaret Eco-Archaeological Park are fantastic day trips, they are best experienced as such rather than multi-day extensions due to their concentrated offerings.

Mercado 28 in Cancun itself is a vibrant market, but not a multi-day destination.

Two nights is possible if you're short on time, but it will feel like a whirlwind, with most of your days spent in transit or on tightly scheduled excursions.

For ultimate convenience, private transfers can be arranged, but this is the most expensive option. Extending your trip might not be the best use of time if your primary goal is to relax solely at your resort or if you have a very short overall vacation window.
